RALNA ENGLISH: FROM MY HEART is an all-new 90-minute PBS special from one of America's most versatile singers and longtime star of "The Lawrence Welk Show." Ralna belts out her renditions of big band, jazz, popular, gospel and patriotic songs from the Great American Songbook as only she can!

Taped before a live audience, RALNA ENGLISH: FROM MY HEART airs nationally on PBS as part of the March 2007 pledge drive (check local listings for date and time).

The program features Ralna English performing 22 songs, including an Irving Berlin medley and an "old time" gospel medley, accompanied throughout the special by the 75-piece Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, a huge Philharmonic Gospel Choir and the Eddie Mabry Dancers. Maestro Albert Moehring conducts.

ACT ONE features Ralna performing big band and jazz numbers, including "Tangerine/Green Eyes," "You'll Never Know," "That Old Black Magic," and "I'll Be Seeing You." Ralna tells the audience about her childhood years in Texas, (complete with vintage photographs) where, according to her mother, she was "humming before she was talking." Then, Ralna ends the first act with her lively rendition of "Strike Up The Band" and is joined on stage by the Eddie Mabry Dancers in patriotic costumes.

ACT TWO of "Ralna English: From My Heart" continues with Ralna paying a special medley tribute to the great composer, Irving Berlin. She performs his songs from the Golden Age of Music including, "Blue Skies," "How Deep Is The Ocean," and "Always." The act ends with Ralna singing a very uplifting "God Bless America." During the song, she's joined on stage by the Philharmonic Gospel Choir and the Eddie Mabry Dancers. "God Bless America" ends with the American flag waving across the stage and canons firing confetti into the air above the orchestra and choir, which brings the audience to their feet with a rousing standing ovation!

In ACT THREE, Ralna performs "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," and her very special, poignant arrangement of "Amazing Grace." Then, Ralna asks her audience if they're "ready for some old time gospel music!" and the choir on stage with her comes alive with a very joyful sound! Ralna's inspiring gospel medley includes, "Come On Children, Let's Sing!" "Put Your Hand In The Hand," "I'll Fly Away," "I Saw The Light," "Oh, Happy Day," and "Amen."
